Barcelona have offered three players to Valencia in swap deal of signing Spanish duo

In order to convince Valencia to release the likes of Carlos Soler and Jose Gaya in the summer, Barcelona are ready to offer as many as three players, including Martin Braithwaite, Sergino Dest and Riqui Puig, from their roster.

Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo reports Valencia are aware of Barcelona’s interest in their duo but at the same time, they know that the populated roster they have at the moment will make it difficult for the Blaugrana to work within the financial regulation.

But to make it possible, Barcelona president Joan Laporta, along with his right-hand man Rafa Yuste met with two Valencia officials in Anil Murthy and advisor Joey Lim to discuss the possible transfer of the duo.

As it has been learned, Valencia president, Anil Murthy, will not make it difficult for the aforementioned players to leave in the summer, meaning that Barcelona can actually get their hopes high.

At the same time, however, it’s difficult for Barcelona to match Valencia’s asking price of €40-50 million for Soler alone. In fact, the Barcelona management has acknowledged that despite some sales in January, it still remains a far fetched fee for them to even consider.

And so comes the urge to sell Braithwaite, Dest and Puig. Through this, Barcelona hope Valencia can lower their asking price, but these deals would cost Los Che more than anything.

To begin with, Valencia does not believe Braithwaite would fit into their system in the first place. Furthermore, Dest’s arrival would clash with the progress of their current right-back, Thierry Correia.

As far as Puig is concerned, they will ask for some time to study his case.

In any way, Barcelona’s idea to pursue Soler is to effectively find someone who can replace an exit-bound Frenkie de Jong. The young Dutchman is linked with a move to Manchester United and Barcelona are hoping to coup as much as €80 million from his sale.
